Classic Rock’s Greatest Performers

Classic rock is a fundamental part of American history. Many of today’s leading bands can trace their styles back to the influence of certain musicians. While every song made available to the world has had an impact on the music industry, there are certain performers who will eternally stand at the forefront of music. From folk rock to psychedelic rock, there have been many groundbreaking sounds and voices. Here are the top ten most influential classic rock bands in history.

Bob Dylan

Dylan has one of the most easily recognizable voices in the world. Raspy and full of passion, Bob Dylan’s sound is distinctive. His songs are amazing and defined a generation obsessed with the themes of social unrest, an anti-war stance, and encouragement for the civil rights movement. A traditional folk singer, Dylan’s works transcended all genres and appealed to countless young Americans. His sincere lyrics spoke to many and made it possible to empathize with his many causes.

Pink Floyd

Easily considered the greatest band of all time, Pink Floyd’s unique style and showmanship defined psychedelic rock. Their concept albums were thematic masterpieces that appealed to countless audiences. The Dark Side Of The Moon, Animals, and The Wall each still stand out today as great Rockmasterpieces.

The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones have easily maintained their position as one of the longest lasting bands in recording history. Like most popular rock bands of the age, they were an England-based band that was more than happy to take on America—especially in places like California and Delray Beach, Florida. Their grungy unkempt image became so popular; many artists are still attempting to master it. Their unique sound and high quality lyrics have kept them at the top of the charts for almost 40 years.

Led Zeppelin

The road to heavy metal was paved by Led Zeppelin. Their first album was pivotal in its inclusion of distorted amplification techniques. Over the years, their experimentation included mixing acoustic and electric sounds, with the addition of synthesized melodies. The success of Led Zeppelin helped establish a strong base for the development of metal music.

Few people of their generation or the current generation realize that like Elvis, Led Zeppelin took most of their inspiration from African-American performers. As a lifelong fan of Led Zeppelin, it is was oddly fascinating to listen to some of the not-so-famous African-American rhythm-and-blues performers of the 1930’s, and to be able to hear the Led Zeppelin songs we have loved for years in a whole new way.

The Who

Also known for their thematic records, The Who pioneered the idea of rock opera. Most famous for their collaborative efforts with every major musical figure of their time, Tommy The Rock Opera ensured the longevity of the band into the future. Their success and fame were not limited to their unique approach to concept albums. Their musical skills are still highly regarded in both mainstream circles and in the entertainment industry. Their music is currently being used as the theme song for at least three of the most popular show on TV on the air today.

All About Michael Jackson

This is a name in music that will not be soon forgotten. Michael Jackson’s legacy will live on for hundreds of years to come, I am sure of it. His amazing musical talent sets him apart from every other artist out there. There is no denying that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest artists of all time, and his platinum records and musical awards show it clearly. Born August 29, 1958, Michael Jackson was the eighth child in his family. At first, he made his musical debut with four of his brothers known as the Jackson 5, and later started his solo career in 1971.

This is where Michael really took off with fame. His music videos of “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” really changed the way people thought about music videos, and revolutionized the messages that are now seen regularly in music videos in all types of genres. His music video of “Thriller” is really one of the greatest music videos that I have ever seen. His dancing and the different effects in the music video are outstanding, and the way that he presents himself while singing “Thriller” is something else.

Not surprisingly, Thriller is actually the best-selling album of all time. His other albums are also ranked very high, and he has won countless awards for his bestselling albums and amazing songs. Not only this, but he is actually the most awarded musician in the history of popular music. But not only was he an amazing artist, but he was also a very outspoken public figure.

He had tons of messages rooted in his music videos, and his famous change of appearance led him into some controversy. But aside from this controversy and some court cases that were either settled or where he was found not guilty, he was also a very generous donor to tons of different charities. Some people think that his change in appearance was due to a choice made by the musician, but this is not the full case of what happened. While it is true that he could have been bleaching his skin, Michael was diagnosed with vitiligo, a disease that could have lightened his skin to the tone it became. He was also diagnosed with lupus. This made his skin very sensitive to sunlight, and he may have lightened his skin to try and hide all of the spots created by the disease.

Many different stories of Michael were in all sorts of magazines and tabloids, and because of his great fame, many weird stories about him were believed, as all highly famous artists have to deal with. Michael Jackson unfortunately died at the age of 50 due to an intoxication due to Propofol and benzodiazepine. His personal physician was accused and convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Michael Jackson death saw unimaginable sadness filling into his fans, and his broadcasted memorial service was heart felt all around. Michael Jackson was an inspiration to so many and his legacy will live on for years to come.

All Time Greatest Solo Artists

With music, there are so many genres and styles of music to choose to listen to. Many come in the form of bands, and many come as solo artists. Either way can produce amazing music, but this list pays tribute to the all time greatest solo artists. These artists have amazing talent and their music ability is phenomenal. No matter what kinds of music you love to listen to, I am sure you have found at least one song from one of these artists that you can listen to and maybe even sing along to.

Michael Jackson is no stranger to all time greatest solo artist lists. Maybe lists place him as their number one, based on his raw talent and amazing records that boasted incredible sales records and other awards. This list does not really have an ordered ranking, simply because there are so many factors to go into giving an artist a rank. All of these artists are extremely talented, and don’t need to be ranked for me to tell you that they are some of the greatest that ever lived. Jackson’s music and his music videos with his incredible dancing revolutionized the way that pop artists create music and music videos. To this day, Michael Jackson has inspired so many different cultures of music to follow behind his singing style and dancing.

David Bowie is another one of the greatest solo artists of all time. He accomplished so much in his life, and was a very influential artist. But not only was he an amazing music artist, but he was also a great actor and painter. He inspired tons of change to the fashion industry and the music industry, and still remains a favorite to so many people worldwide for his amazing songs and great voice.

Elvis Presley is a name that I am sure you are familiar with. Known as “The King”, his outstanding vocal talent and rich voice led him to become one of the most successful artists ever. He is most known for his number one charted singles, but he is also known for having been an actor later in his life.

Who can forget Prince in an all time greatest solo artist list. He was an absolutely amazing musician who was an all-in-one package. Not only could he sing beautifully, but he could also create electronic beats, play instruments and produce his music all by himself. He was wonderfully gifted with musical ability and from the young age of 17 he signed onto a recording contract and found himself crowded with fans. His records blended tons of different genres of music into one famous Prince styled package that delivered fun beats with a slight sexual twist in them. His records went platinum and he quickly rose up with an enormous following that to this day remains in love with his amazing music. All of these artists are truly gifted with amazing musical talent and will remain on top of the charts for being all time greatest solo artists for decades to come.

All Time Greatest Female Singers

There are so many different female singers in each kind of music genre that it is actually very difficult to pick out the all time greatest ones. Based on numbers of records sold however, there are of course those who stand on top, but there are plenty that were just as good that may have just not been as popular of a genre of music at that time. These are some of the greatest female singers of all time.

Janet Jackson is definitely a woman who deserves to be on this list. She is one of the most famous female singers in the world and was very popular in the pop scene. While she may not have been one of the best vocally talented artists, she had a unique way of singing and her influence on popular music made her a very popular singer. She has won countless awards during her career and has sold millions of records worldwide. Of course, another reason why she was able to garner up so much fame is because of her older brother Michael Jackson who is known as one of the greatest male singers of all time. This is not to say that she became famous because of him however. Her rise to fame was due to her amazing singing talent and natural ability to create amazing music that tons of people would listen to all around the world.

Beyonce is one of the most talented female singers of her generation. She has sold millions of records just like Janet Jackson and has inspired so many different artists with her amazing vocal ability. Madonna is another great female singer. In fact, she is the most successful female artist in the history of music. With more than double the records sold compared to Janet Jackson, Madonna’s unique singing and vocal talent made her without a doubt one of the greatest female singers of all time.

Adele is another one of the greatest female singers of all time. Her debut album sent her spiraling into fame with over seven million copies sold. While she is one of the newer female singers, this makes it even impressive that she could be such a hit in a shorter amount of time. She is a truly amazing artist with much more music coming that will surely break records.

Of course, this list would not be complete without Mariah Carey. She is easily one of the greatest singers ever, whether you compare her to men or women. She has one of the most amazing voices ever heard and has an insane vocal range that still holds the record. She has sold almost as many records as Madonna, but her voice is much more impressive, which really sets her apart as one of the very best female singers in history.

These are some of my picks as to who is the greatest female singers of all time. All of these artists have amazing talents and have received many awards for their amazing singing.

Best Concert Venues in Europe

I just love going to all kinds of different concerts, especially in Europe. Being from the United States, heading over to Europe is a completely different experience from anything you could ever do anywhere else. But, one thing that was very cool and I would highly recommend if you are going to Europe is to go to a concert. The concerts in Europe are so much fun and the places that they are in are amazing. The venues are usually packed, so you will want to buy tickets quite ahead of time if it is a popular artist that you want to see. Many of the venues are smaller than the ones in the United States, so tickets can sell out very quickly.

Here are some of the best concert venues in Europe, starting with the Royal Albert Hall. This is an amazing concert hall in London that holds about 5 thousand people inside. It is very beautiful indoors and the interior lighting is spectacular. Recently they added a nice restaurant inside as well, which is very nice and the food was very good.

Next up is the Manchester Arena. Now, there are a ton of different concert venues that come here, so depending on the time in which you plan to visit England, there may not be an artist performing that you necessarily really want to go see, so you may want to look into the different concerts that will be going on in it. The arena itself is very clean and has amazing concerts. The seats are in a circular arena format, so no matter where you are sitting, so long as the concert stage is in the middle of the arena, you should be able to see the performance perfectly.

Popular European Venues

Another great arena that has some of the best concert venues in Europe is the Wembley Arena. Of course, located in Wembley, it is an indoor arena that hosts some great artists. It has 12,500 seats, so it is London’s second-largest indoor arena, which is very nice. It has hosted the MTB Europe Music Awards ceremony, so the sound quality inside the arena is very top notch.

Next up is the 02 Arena, which is the biggest arena in London holding up to 20,000 guests. The music venues here are some of the best, given that it is the biggest arena in London. Being so, it is not very hard to find tickets for a certain artist later than other locations would have them available. The seating is very good, and you should have a perfect view of the center based stage from any spot in the arena.

These are some of the best concert venues that I have attended in Europe, and they are all amazing. The sound inside the arenas is very good, and the Royal Albert Hall is very beautiful inside. You won’t regret taking the time to go out and enjoy a concert from one of your favorite artists at any of these locations.

For more information, visit Royal Albert Hall.

Best Concert Venues in the USA

In no specific order, these concert venues are some of the best in the United States. All it really comes down to is your preference in music and the dates that the artists you love to listen to are playing at one of the locations.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

What a beautiful place to see a great concert. What is so amazing about this location is that mother nature basically sculpted the entire amphitheater herself, so the incline seating and stage are all part rock. Not only this, but the sound quality is perfect, so kudos to nature for making such a beautiful location to have a great concert venue. Located in Colorado, this location is right within most peoples travel in the United States. But you have to be sure to bring a coat if you are seeing a concert during any season that is cold, since this is a very open air amphitheater. This location has a great reputation for hosting some of the best music artists to this date, and makes for a fun evening with whoever you want to bring along.

Gorge Amphitheater

The name speaks for itself, because this amphitheater is situated right next to the Columbia gorge canyon. Not only this, but from any seat in this open air amphitheater, you can see the glimmering Columbia River right behind the stage. The design is perfect, because no matter where you find yourself sitting, you always have a great view of the stage. It makes sense that this location is much more popular in the warmer months, hosting many different festivals and tours, mainly to attract the biggest crowds to fill up the near 23,000 person capacity.

Hollywood Bowl

This is an amphitheatre most renowned for its band shell design that sees arches set in front of a shell that is set in front of the Hollywood Hills and in the distance the Hollywood Sign. With many popular artists making their appearance here, its no wonder that venues can tend to sell out quite fast. Not only this, but its location tends to draw many locals to the venues, as it is in the Hollywood Hills. There are hundreds of events every year at this location, so finding the right genre of music to grab a ticket to is up to you being quick enough to buy them. With a capacity of 17,500 people, this outdoor amphitheatre is a massive set that seats every single one of the capacity numbers.

Radio City Music Hall

Nobody could mistake this indoor theatre for something that did not involve a performance of some type. Brightly lit with great neon signs and reserved indoor seating for up to 5,960 guests, this venue is better known for hosting America’s Got Talent. But this is not the only good show that comes around to this location. Many different genres of artists make their way to this great music hall to entertain thousands. In recent years the focus of entertainment has shifted to mainly concerts and live show performances, which makes it a great place to see any artist that you really enjoy listening to.

All About Rhythm & Blues

Rhythm and Blues (R&B) is clearly governing the musical scene once more, after it had encountered a few pinnacles of its notoriety before, be that as it may, shockingly, not every person knows about this. R&B was at first used to recognize playful popular music, performed by African-American specialists, which later on created into rock and roll and acted like antecedent of rockabilly style. It involves components of jazz, gospel music and blues and in addition hip-bounce and beat since 1986. It cases to supplant the term race music, which was regarded hostile. It’s thought to be presented by Jerry Wexler in 1846 in the United States. Hip hop gives off an impression of being result of the impact of R&B.

1950s are considered as the genuine classical epoch of the R&B trend. Its regional subgenres Louisiana and New Orleans, comprising mixes of R&B, jazz and rock-n-roll, achieved great mainstream success in early 1960s with artists like the Rolling Stones and the Manfred Mann in entire Europe. It was, however, replaced in middle 1960s by soul.

In 1980s R&B re-established its popularity, ruling the musical world alongside disco and even long further after disco’s demise. It’s not until 1980s that the acronym R&B was introduced and used to denote the Rhythm & Blues term. Notably, it has caught on, containing elements of soul and pop music. Original arrangements and strong vocal, however, bared it from turning into a regular pop culture’s product.

The blues as a musical phenomenon began around 1911 when W.C. Handy published popular songs, notably “Memphis Blues” and “St Louis Blues“, which affected the hearts and souls of the black people. By the nineteen twenties the general population were beginning to hear this new music through its influence on jazz. Early blues singers like Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday sang with jazz bands while others played with “jug bands” accompanied by fiddle, kazoo and washboard.

Irrespective a large number of its subgenres, Presently, R&B continues to be popular worldwide with artists like Black Eyed Peas, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Ciara, Omarion and Bow Wow, leading world music charts. Tracing the periodical ups, one can notice its numerous rises with the break of 25 to 30 years. Thus, R&B’s another golden age in 2030 shouldn’t even be brought into question. Hopefully, this period will bring us some new music twinkling stars.

After years of imitating their idols something odd happened to the white blues guitar players in Britain and the USA. They developed their own authentic, original styles. The older blues players even began using the new arrangements of classic songs and adopting some of the un-bluesmusical innovations introduced by young white guitarists like Eric Clapton. So the beat goes on. A foreign culture influences American popular music and in turn gets fresh input from a new generation of guitar players from all over the world.

What is Indie Music?

Indie music is a kind of elective shake which exists in the free music world. The word is occasionally used to allude to all underground music, and is the inverse of indie popular music. Indie rock music puts an accentuation on electric instruments such guitars and drums. Artists in the class are additionally known for utilizing unique sounds. The term indie shake is utilized in light of the fact that artists work under littler record names rather than the real record organizations.

In spite of the fact that indie shake isn’t actually a classification, it is considered to speak to the underground culture in numerous angles. Indie specialists are known for requesting a lot of imaginative control over their music, and this is something which regularly distances them from bigger organizations. Indie craftsmen will entirely depend on verbal, visits, and autonomous radio stations with a specific end goal to advance their music. A significant number of the famous craftsman will wind up getting to be noticeably prominent with standard gatherings of people, and might be marked by huge record names.

In the US indie music is thought to be a turn off from elective shake. The development is accepted to have been begun amid the 1970s or 1980s. The indie shake music of the 1980s had a sounds which were depicted as being substantial and twisted. By the 1990s, indie music gatherings, for example, Nirvana and Pearl Jam moved toward becoming standard, and the class turned out to be more across the board. Once the class wound up plainly famous, significant record organizations start putting a lot of cash in it.

Indie Music Popularity

When this happened, the expression “elective shake” turned out to be all the more a misnomer. Customarily, numerous performers who have marked with real record organizations were thought to be “offer outs” by their no-nonsense fans. My Original Music is an indie music site situated at myoriginalmusic.com. Here you can discover music by free specialists from everywhere throughout the world. Today, indie shake is a term which has come to portray a wide assortment of music. The term indie shake has been connected to hallucinogenic society, synth-pop, and post-punk.

At times the term indie shake winds up noticeably obscured, and some trust that the word will soon vanish much like elective shake did. Standard craftsmen, for example, Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys have been known to achieve abnormal states on the indie music outlines, particularly in the United Kingdom. Some standard craftsmen have even been marked to autonomous record names. Numerous well known indie music craftsman progress toward becoming standard, and once this happens, they are not any more free.

In spite of the way that numerous indie specialists move toward becoming standard, this isn’t generally the case. Truth be told, most free craftsmen are not standard, and don’t wish to be. Cash might be an inspiring component, yet numerous craftsmen play their music for the energy and not the cash. Many significant record names apply a lot of control over their specialists, and the music which is sold is all the more frequently the result of the record organizations than the craftsmen themselves. Along these lines, numerous specialists have battled with the real record marks over imaginative control of their music.

Top British Performers to See Live

Listening to music has always had a magic effect on people. But actually seeing and hearing the music performed live is a completely different experience all together. Live performers bring the excitement on the stage and into the crowd. The excitement leading up to the concert is also a rush—you’ve bought your concert tickets, you’ve waited a while for the day to come round, you see the limo service roll into the concert venue with the band, and finally, it’s time. The anticipation has built up and you are ready to explode. But the concert turns out a dud, it’ll never meet your high expectations. How can you be sure that no matter what concert you attend, you’ll see a top notch performer? Well, unfortunately you can’t. But you can find out the best performers to see live. First, ask yourself what bands exist that no matter where or when they play, your concert ticket will deliver a memorable gig, packed with memories and experiences you can tell to your grandchildren? That’s what we’re here to answer.

Here are a few British bands that always deliver legendary performances to their audiences time and time again. Take our advice: purchase a concert ticket for one of these acts, and you will never come away disappointed.

Best British Bands to See Live

Let’s start with the Rolling Stones. Legends in their own time with a back catalogue to pull from that most other modern bands can only envy, The Rolling Stones, despite being grandfathers most of them, are still rocking hard and leading the way in quality live musical entertainment. Rumors have been told that the band has a team of doctors backstage watching various monitors to ensure they stay fit to perform. But even so, the lifestyle that made them so famous means that even the people hired to keep their hearts pumping are banned from the after-show party.

Next, is Queen. So legendary were their concerts, people from all walks of life would go to see them even if they disliked their music. Freddie Mercury had the appeal and magnetic allure that people only wish they had the opportunity to see live. Because of this, tickets to Queen performances sold like gold. In the end, Mercury can never be replaced, and Queens’ performances, pinnacled with their Live Aid concert at Wembley in 1985. This gave them a new audience and fondness within the British pop culture.

Finally, we have Madness. Not as well known as Queen or the Rolling Stones, they could still rock the stage. The North London band never did much to change their act in any huge way, other than let it mature into a solid and skanking master showpiece. They started playing in back street London pubs, and then moved on to play 100,000 fans in London’s Hyde Park. Madness will make every section of society move it’s feet whether they want to or not.

While these are just three of the greats, these are not the only. This list could go on and on to include some of the best performers across the globe to ever take the stage.

The Best Bands of All Time

Rock-n-roll changed the world and the bands that led the way changed music forever. Just like climate control changed the way people live comfortably in their homes—but we digress… Anyways, when you try to narrow down the best bands of all time, it’s hard to chose just a few. Some bands might pop into your head right away, but making a list of and not leaving out some of your favorites is almost. Many rock bands have created songs that let fans see a near religious experience when performed live. These bands have made impacts on the world and the quality of the music that has surrounded our lives. Of course, everyone has their own opinions on who they consider to be the “best bands” of all time. Here’s our list, as we’ve tried to incorporate a variety of opinions.

Best Rock Bands

According to an article on Today.com, “The Beatles are unquestionably the best and most important band in rock history, as well as the most compelling story. Almost miraculously, they embodied the apex of the form artistically, commercially, culturally and spiritually at just the right time, the tumultuous ’60s, when music had the power to literally change the world (or at least to give the impression that it could, which may be the same thing). The Beatles are the archetype: there is no term in the language analogous to ‘Beatlemania.'”

The same article by Today.com continued on to introduce another great rock band that took the #1 spot in the world following the Beatles vacancy: “When the Beatles ceased to exist in 1970, the title of ‘World’s Greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll Band’ fell with very little dispute to the Rolling Stones, who by then were in the middle of such a wondrous creative peak that they might have challenged the Fab Four for the title anyway. It’s a title the one-time ‘anti-Beatles’ haven’t relinquished since. Not only have the Stones been the greatest rock band in the world for more than 30 years, but they have been a functioning rock ‘n’ roll unit for more than 40, the longest run in history.”

In addition to the Rolling Stones, no list would be complete with Aerosmith and Metallica. Both bands are known as “rockstar royalty” in the United States. Metallica helped to introduce hardcore heavy metal into the scene, while Aerosmith was inspired by the Rolling Stones but included their own southern twist.

Alongside these bands, comes individuals who have made a personal impact on rock-n-roll. It’s often been argued that Bruce Springsteen, known as “The Boss,” was one of the greatest to ever rock the stage. With the E Street Band, he created a wave that allowed fans to believe in the power of music. Another rockstar, argued to be the greatest guitarist the world has ever seen, is Jimi Hendrix. Not only was he super cool, but he had real raw talent. Then, we have Tom Petty. First inspired by the Beatles to get involved in music, Petty and the Heartbreakers had style and class—and they sure could rock a stage.

The beauty of this list is that it is no where near complete. There are names that were not included that should be added and there are names to come in the future that will rock our world.
